2、esedevices,suchas,Buchholzrelaysordifferentialrelays,respondonlytoaseverepowerfailurerequiringimmediateremovalofthetransformerfromservice,inwhichcase,outagesareinevitable.Thus,preventivetechniquesforearlydetectionfaultstoavoidoutageswouldbevaluable.Inthisway
3、,analysisofthemixtureofthefaultygasesdissolvedininsulationoilofpowertransformerhasreceivedworldwiderecognitionasaneffectivemethodforthedetectionofoncipientfaults.Manyresearchersandelectricalutilitieshavereportedontheirexperienceanddevelopedinterpretativecrit
4、eriaonthebasisofDGA.However,criteriatendtovaryfromutilitytoutility.Therefore,transformerdiagnosisisstillintheheuristicstage.Forthisreason,knowledge-basedprogrammingisasuitableapproachtoimplementinsuchadiagnosticproblem.BasedontheinterpretationofDGA,aprototyp
5、eofanexpertsystemfordiagnosisofsuspectedtransformerfaultsandtheirmaintenanceproceduresisproposed.Thesignificantsourceinthisknowledgebaseisthegasratiomethod.Somelimitationsofthisapproachareovercomebyincorporatingthediagnosticprocedureandthesyntheticexpertisem
6、ethod.Furthermore,databasesadoptedfromTPC'Sgasrecordsoftransformersareincorporatedintotheexpertsystemtoincreasethepracticalperformance.Uncertaintyofdiagnosisismanagedbyusingfuzzysetconcepts.Thisexpertsystemisconstructedwithrulebasedknowledgerepresentation,si
7、nceitcanbeexpressedbyexperts.Theexpertsystembuildingtool,knowledgeEngineeringSystem(KES),isusedinthedevelopmentoftheknowledgesystembecause,ithasexcellentman-machineinterfacethatprovidessuggestions.Moreover,itsinferencestrategyissimilartotheMYCIN.Afamousrule-
8、basedexpertsystemusedformedicaldiagnosis.Theuncertaintyofhumanqualitativediagnosticexpertise,e.g.,keygasanalysis,andanotherquantitativeimprecision,suchas,normsthresholdandgasratioboundariesetc.,
