3、es,monuments,artifacts,etc.,thatareconsideredworthyofpreservationforthefuture.Theseincludeobjectssignificanttothearchaeology,architecture,scienceortechnologyofaspecificculture."Naturalheritage"isalsoanimportantpartofaculture,encompassingthecountrysideandnaturalenvironment,includi
4、ngfloraandfauna,scientificallyknowasbiodiversity.Thesekindofheritagesitesoftenserveasanimportantcomponentinacountry'stouristindustry,attractingmanyvisitorsfromabroadaswellaslocally.Theheritagethatsurvivesfromthepastisoftenuniqueandirreplaceable,whichplacestheresponsibilityofprese
5、rvationonthecurrentgeneration.Smallerobjectssuchasartworksandotherculturalmasterpiecesarecollectedinmuseumsandartgalleries.Grassrootsorganizationsandpoliticalgroupshavebeensuccessfulatgainingthenecessarysupporttopreservetheheritageofmanynationsforthefuture.SignificantwastheConven
6、tionConcerningtheProtectionofWorldCulturalandNaturalHeritagethatwasadoptedbytheGeneralConferenceofUNESCOin1972.Asof2008,thereare878WorldHeritageSites:678cultural,174natural,and26mixedproperties,in145countries.Eachofthesesitesisconsideredimportanttotheinternationalcommunity.Abroad
7、erdefinitionincludesintangibleaspectsofaparticularculture,oftenmaintainedbysocialcustomsduringaspecificperiodinhistory.Thewaysandmeansofbehaviorinasociety,andtheoftenformalrulesforoperatinginaparticularculturalclimate.Theseincludesocialvaluesandtraditions,customsandpractices,aest
