3、bonorwafer.•Monocrystallinesilicon(c-Si)isoftenmadeusingtheCzochralskiprocess.Single-crystalwafercellsareexpensivebecausetheyarecutfromcylindricalingots•Poly-ormulti-crystallinesilicon(poly-Siormc-Si)ismadefromcastsquareingots.Theyarecheaperbecausetheyarelessexpensivetoproducethansinglecrystal

4、cellsbuttheyarelessefficient•Ribbonsiliconisformedbydrawingflatthinfilmsfrommoltensiliconandtheyhaveamulti-crystallinestructure.Thesecellshavelowerefficienciesthanpoly-Si,butsaveonproductioncostsduetoagreatreductioninsiliconwastebecausethisapproachdoesnotrequiresawingfromingots.•NewStructures:

7、rs,andmorerecentlyseveralcompaniesbeginningtousemetallurgicalsilicone(MG-Si)directlyasafeedstock.Itisgenerallyreferredtoasmulti-crystallinesilicon,orpoly-silicon(poly-Si,orpoly).Untilrecently,SoGcamefromoff-specandwastesilicon,producede
