2、oftheimportantkeystounderstandtheoperationmechanismsguidingChineseMNEsinvestmentinVietnam.Theorganizationalstructurereflectstheownership,corporatestrategy,andthecoordinationandcontroloftheenterprises.LikemostChineseMNEs,boththeoverseasbusinessdivisionofTCLandoverseasdivisionofCLFG

3、areverticallystructuredwithdifferentdepartmentsoperatingatdifferentlevelsoftheorganizationalhierarchy.Withinthecorporationstructure,asmanyintervieweespointedout,TCL′sOverseasBusinessDivisionisoneofthemostimportantdivisions.ThisisanotherindicationofTCL′sinternationalexpansionstrate

4、gy.Thevicepresidentsineachdivisiontakespecificresponsibility.TheCEOofthedivisionoverseestheoverallagendaandsomekeytasks.Thedepartmentalizationofdivisionsisnotonlybasedontheproducts,butalsoongeographicalregionssuchastheEuropeanUnion,NorthAmerica,andSoutheastAsia.Suchorganizationals

5、tructureindicatesthateachofthefunctionsofChinaTCLwasstandardized.Thefunctionswereclearlydividedbetweendivisions.TheorganizationalstructureofTCLVietnamwasalsocentralizedtofacilitatecommandstopassfromtoptobottomandtheresultswereeasilymonitoredbytopmanagement(Fig.1).Oneofthereasonsfo

6、rthiswasthatTCLVietnamisstill"young"andthemanagersanddivisionchiefsneedtogainmoretrustinordertogetmorepower.CLFG′sstructurewasslightlydifferentfromTCL′s.TherewerethreeownershipgroupsofconstituentcompaniesinCLFG′scurrentstructure.Thefirstgroupof10constituentcompaniesconsistedofthos

7、ethatwerewhollyownedbyCLFG.ThewhollyownedsubsidiariesweremainlyservicingcompaniesforCLFG.TheyprovidedprofessionalservicessuchasfinancialservicesorhospitalityservicestoCLFGanditssubsidiaries.ThesecondgroupofconstituentcompanieswerethosemajorityownedbyCLFG.CLFGVietnamandthecorebusin
