3、tionistomeasurethetechnologyspilloveracrossdifferentclustersinIndiaanditsinter-clusterspilloveranalysiswithrespecttosomebasicparameterinthemodel.ItaccountsfortheroleofinvestmentclimatetomeasurethespillovereffectofaparticularclusterinIndia.Theempiricalfindingsrevealthatsomec

4、lustersbenefitmorefromtheforeigncounterpartsduetomoretechnologicalstockincluster/regionandcluster-specificeffectandotherintermediatefactors.Furthermore,technologyspilloverintensityinsomeclustersseemstobestronglyaffectedbygeographicallocationandthebetterinvestmentclimateofth

5、eseregions.1.Introduction:OneoftheaimsinattractingFDIbydevelopingcountriesisimprovementofregionaldevelopment.Havingfirmslocateinundevelopedanddevelopedregionsprovidesadirectimpactintermsofemploymentandcapitalcreationgiventheunderutilizationofresourcespriortotheentry,andapot

6、entialindirecteffectviaspilloverstolocalfirms.Multinationalfirmsoperatinginemergingmarketstransfertechnologytolocalsupplierstoincreasetheirproductivityandthistransfergeneratesgreatercompetitionandlowerpricesthatbenefittheentireeconomy.Theprimarymotivationofthemultinationals

7、totransfertechnologytosuppliersistoenablehigherqualityinputsatlowerprices.Multinationalscoulddiffusethetechnologywidely–eitherbydirecttransfertoadditionalfirmsorbyencouragingspilloverfromtheoriginal2recipient.Widediffusionoftechnologywouldthenencourageentryintothesupplierma
