4、bservethenucleusoftumorcellusingprobe-basedconfocallaserendomicroscopy(pCLE),weexaminedethacridineasnewcontrastagent.Recently,usefulnessofpCLEbyusingfluoresceinfordetectionofurothelialcarcinomawasreported.Fluoresceindidnotrevealcellnucleusandcytoplasm.Inthisstudy,weexaminedethacridineforp
5、CLEtoobservethenucleiofurothelialcarcinomacellsexvivo.Methods:3sampleswereobtainedfromTURBTspecimens.Samplesfromfreshlyexcisedurothelialcancerouslesionwereretrievedfromresectedtissue.Thesampleswereplacedontheglassslide,immersedimmediatelyinethacridinesolution(0.01%insaline)for60secs,andsu
6、bsequentlyrinsedinnormalsalinesolution,andpCLEimagingwasperformed.Afterobservation,thesampleswerefixedbyformalinontheglassslide,followedbyplacementofacoverglass,andstainedbyhematoxylin-eosin.TheimagingofpCLEwascomparedwithhistologicfindingsunderthesamehorizontalview.Results:All3patientswi
7、thhigh-gradeurothelialcarcinoma,stainednucleiwereobserved.ThemorphologicalpatternsofpCLEwerelikethoseofhistopathologicalstudy.Conclusion:pCLEwithethacridinecanclearlydetectthecancerouslesion.pCLEbyusingintravesicalethacridineinstillationmightbeusefulandlessinvasive.
