3、ewhichalaboratorycanuseasabasicstartingpointforgeneratingitsowndetailedStandardOperatingProcedure(SOP),eitherforitsowngeneraluseorforaspecificprojectapplication.1.0SCOPEANDAPPLICATION1.1ThismethoddescribestheextractionofsemivolatileorganiccompoundsfromsamplescollectedbyM

4、ethod0010.ThismethodreplacestheSamplePreparationsectionofMethod0010(ModifiedMethod5SamplingTrain,alsoknownasSemiVOST),whichcurrentlyaddressespreparationofMethod0010traincomponentsforanalysiswithverylittledetail.1.2Althoughthissamplepreparationtechniqueisintendedprimarily

5、forgaschromatography/massspectrometric(GC/MS)analysisfollowingMethod8270,theextractspreparedaccordingtothismethodmaybeusedwithotheranalyticalmethods.TheMethod0010samplingtraincollectssemivolatileorganiccompoundswithboilingpointsabove100EC.Someofthesesemivolatileorganicco

6、mpoundsmaynotbeamenabletogaschromatographyandwillrequiretheapplicationofhighperformanceliquidchromatography(HPLC)forquantitativeanalysis.TheuseofHPLCcoupledwithmassspectrometry(HPLC/MS)isananalyticaltechniquethatmayalsobeapplied.Asolventexchangefrommethylenechloridetoamo
