2、ard(ThirdRevision)wasadoptedbytheBureauofIndianStandards,afterthedraftfinalizedbytheBuildersHardwareSectionalCommitteehadbeenapprovedbytheCivilEngineeringDivisionCouncil.Thisstandardwasfirstpublishedin1951andsubsequentlyrevisedin1964and1990.Inthisrevision,importantchanges

3、indesignofthestaplehavebeenincorporated.FurtherinthisrevisioncoldrolledlowcarbonsteelsheetsasperGradeDofIS513:1986hasalsobeenincludedapartfromhotrolledcarbonsteelsheetsandstripsaspergrade0ofIS1079:1988.Atsogeneralupdatinghasbeendoneinthestandard.Thisstandardcontainsclause

4、s4.1.1,7.3,8.1and8.2whichpermitthepurchasertousehisoptionforselectiontosuithisrequirements.Intheformulationofthisstandarddueweightagehasbeengiventointernationalco-ordinationamongthestandardsandpracticesprevailingindifferentcountriesinadditiontorelatingittothepracticesinth

5、efieldinthiscountry.Forthepurposeofdecidingwhetheraparticularrequirementofthisstandardiscompliedwiththefinalvalue,observedorcalculated,expressingtheresultofatestoranalysis,shallberoundedoffinaccordancewithIS2:1960Rulesforroundingoffnumericalvalues(revised).Thenumberofsign
