3、speci-secondphaseinvolvesidentifyingashortlistofvendorsbasedfications,(2)identifyafewdifferentvendorsandsalesrepre-onpastexperienceandlocalrepresentationandrequestingsentativesofchillermanufacturersandrequestthemtosubmitthemtosubmitbidsbasedonperformancespe
4、cifications.Thebidsalongwithchillerperformancemapsintheformoftabu-thirdphaseisfortheconsultingengineertoselectaparticularlardata,(3)selectaparticularchiller(ormixofchillers)fromchiller(ormixofchillers)fromthesebidsthathedeemsmostthesebids,and(4)performacert
5、ifiedandwitnessedfactoryappropriate(basedoncriteriasuchaslife-cyclecosts,refrig-testontheperformanceoftheselectedchiller,whichprovideseranttype,client-imposedconstraintssuchasfirstcost,space,aninsurancepolicyandalastchancetorejecttheequipmentetc.).Thismayin
6、volveperformingseveralsimulationrunsiftheengineerdeemsthatthechillerisnotconsistentwithusingcomputerprogramssuchasDOE-2(Winklemannetal.manufacturer’spublishedperformancedata.Usually,the1993).Thelastphaseinvolvesacertifiedandwitnessedfactorytestsareperformed
7、basedonARIStandard550/590orfactorytestsothattheconsultingengineercanverifytheonoperatingconditionsthatbetterreflecttheactualloadperformanceoftheselectedchiller.Thisprovidesareasonableprofile.Thispapersuggestsamethodologytoselecttheopti-assurancetest,i.e.,an
8、insurancepolicy,andalastchancetomalsetoftestconditionsthatprovidethemostusefulchillerrejecttheequipmentiftheengineerdeemsthatthechillerisperformancedata.ItisshownthatusingtheGordon-Ng(GN)notuptomanufac
