3、ttee,andanumberofnon-memberobservers,wereaskedtosendthegeartestdatatoMr.J.C.Leming,ViceChairman,AircraftPowerGearing,whocheckedoverthedataandassignedacaseorcodenumbertoeachgearsettokeepitunidentified.Itwasfeltthatmoreauthoritativedatawouldbemadeavailablewithoutrevealin
4、gtheprecisepracticeorproblemsofanyparticu-larcompany,orwithoutrevealinganyclassifiedmilitaryprojectdata.TheViceChairmansubmittedthecodedgeartestdatatoMr.A.J.Lemanskiforcalculationofthemaximumflashtemperatureindexandscoringindex.Thecalculationsweremade,usingaprogramwrit
5、tenintheFortransystem,onanIBM7070DigitalComputeratLycomingDivision,AvcoCorporation,Stratford,Connecticut.TheformulausedintheprogramisanimprovedversionoftheKelleyformulabyMr.D.W.Dudley.Thisimprovedformulaprovidesforadjust-mentofthetoothloadtoallowforloadsharingbymoretha
6、nonepairofteeth,andanadjustmentfortoothprofilemodifications.ThisinformationsheetwasfirstpresentedbyMr.A.J.LemanskiattheAerospaceGearingCommitteeMeeting,CherryPlazaHotel,Orlando,Florida,February27-29,1964.ItwasapprovedbythecommitteeSeptember17,1964.InformationSheetAGMA2
