3、ction.Withtheproposedmethod,bothparametersofasingletransientandtheperiodbetweentransientscanbeidentifiedfromthevibrationsignal,andlocalizedfaultscanbedetectedbasedontheparameters,especiallytheperiod.First,asimulationsignalisusedtotesttheperformanceoftheproposedmethod.Thent
4、hemethodisappliedtothevibrationsignalsofdifferenttypesofbearingswithlocalizedfaultsintheouterrace,theinnerraceandtherollingelement,respectively,andalltheresultsshowthattheperiodbetweentransients,representingthelocalizedfaultcharacteristic,issuccessfullydetected.Themethodis
5、alsoutilizedingearboxfaultdiagnosisandtheeffectivenessisverifiedthroughidentifyingtheparametersofthetransientmodelandtheperiod.Moreover,itcanbedrawnthatforbearingfaultdetection,thesingle-sidewaveletmodelismoresuitablethandouble-sideone,whilethedouble-sidemodelforgearboxfau
6、ltdetection.Thisresearchproposedaneffectivemethodoflocalizedfaultdetectionforrotatingmachinefaultdiagnosisthroughtransientmodelingandparameterdetection.Rotatingmachinerycoversabroadrangeofmechanicalequipmentsandplaysanimportantroleinmanyindustrialapplications,suchasaircraf
