1、鲁东大学学士学位论文1.0IntroductionForSeniorHighSchoolstudents,listening,asoneofthefourlanguageskills,isthemostimportantwaytoobtainandabsorbinformation.Listeningisnotonlythemajorwaytoacceptinputbutalsoithelpsstudentsimproveotherskillsoflearningandenhancetheirlinguisticandcomm
2、unicativecompetence.Inrecentyears,listeninghasbecomeanessentialpartinthecollegeentranceexamination.Therefore,howtoenhanceSeniorHighSchoolstudents’listeningabilityhasbeenthemajorconcerninEFLteachingandlearning.However,thecurrentsituationoflisteningteachingatSeniorHig
3、hSchoolsisnotsatisfactory.MostteachersinSeniorHighSchoolsstillapplytraditionalteachingmethodtolisteningclass.Teachersplaytheroleof“cassetteplayers”.Theyoftenturnontherecorderandaskstudentstolistencarefullyandrepeatedlywithoutanyexplanation.Afterlistening,theonlyfeed
4、backistogivetherightanswers.Duringthelisteningcomprehensionprocess,teachersalmostneglectwhatstudentsneed,howtheyfeelandwhattheyreallyachievethroughsuchaclass.Asaresult,studentsareusuallyatalossandfeeldullduringtheprocessoflisteningbecauseofthoseunfamiliar,strangesou
5、nds.Furthermore,intheSeniorHighSchools,teachers’roleisoveremphasized,whichmakesstudentstotallybecomepassivelearners.Studentslosetheirinterestinlisteningandtheywillstillbeatalosswhentheycomeacrossthesameproblems.Themainreasonoffailureinlisteningisthattheydonotknowwha
6、tmethodstheyshouldadoptincertainsituations.AccordingtotheproblemsthathavebeenmentionedinthelisteningfieldofEnglish,thereisurgentneedforcreativeandeffectivemethodsoflisteningteaching.The“bottom-up”viewandthe“top-down”viewhavedominatedlanguagepedagogyoverlast20years.H
7、owever,inrecentyears,moreandmorescholarspayattentiontolanguagelearningstrategies.Theydiscoverstudents’learningwillimprovealotiftheybecomeawareofusinglearningstrategies.Asonepartoflearningstrategies,metacognitivestrategycountergreatlyinimprovingcurrentteachingofEngli
