3、ogy.Theseminaltheoriesarerespectedasreceivedwisdom,allflawshavebeenrationalizedandtheonlyremainingchallengeistodressuptheoldmaterialwithelectronicwizardry,asiftheoreticalinnovationceasedtooperatein1950.Ifindeed,thereisnothingneworcontroversialintheoreticalchemistry,witheverythings
4、ecurelylockedupincomputersoftwareatdifferentlevelsoftheory,theexcitementisgoneanddissidentviewsaretaboo.However,thenatureofknowledgeandofscienceisdifferent.Therearenoclosedbooks,notevenonEuclideangeometry,andcertainlynotonchemistry.Thestandardmodelsneglecttotellushowmatteroriginate
5、s,whatlimitsthevarietyofatomicmatter,whatisachemicalbond,andwhyisitnecessarytoassumethemostfundamentalconceptthatdictatesthestabilityofmatter–theexclusionprinciple–onfaith?Evenifthesequestionscannotbeanswered,theyshouldbeaskedcontinually,maybefromapointofviewoverlookedbythefoundi
