3、ssivecontrolreinforcedconcreteframe(PCRCF)reinforcedwithhighstrengthsteelonlyinthecolumnspresentedhereprovidesstructuralsystemsmoreresistancetolateralearthquakeloadingsatcomparativelylowercost.Theeffectivenessisdemonstratedbyanonlinearstaticanalysisusingfibermodelforasinglestorysinglebayfr

4、ame.Thestudyshowsthattheuseofhighperformancesteelincolumnspre-ventsformationofplastichingesatthecriticalcolumnbasesectionsandfailuresarealwaysinitiatedbyre-inforcementyieldingatthebeamends.Furthermore,afterexperiencingseverelateraldrift,thepassivecon-troldesignhassmallresidualdisplacements
