4、samples.TappingmodeAFMwasusedtoreducetheverticalforceappliedtothesamples,whichwereexaminedwithoutanypreparation.AfurthercharacterizationhasbeencarriedoutbymeansofX-raydiffraction,infraredabsorptionandchemicalanalyses.Theobservationsindicatethattheinorganicph
5、asedepositedoncollagenfibresduringinvitrocalcificationispoorlycrystallineBcarbonatedapatite.Thecomposition,structureanddimensionsofapatiticcrystallites,aswellastheirorientationwithrespecttocollagenfibrils,areverysimilartothosecharacteristicofphysiologicallyc
