2、(Received15November1988;andinrevisedform17October1989)Abstract--Inanefforttodescribethree-dimensional,non-uniformeffectsinsteady-staterollingordrawingprocesses,anEulerianfiniteelementmodelispresented.Themodelemploysanumberofsimplifyingkinematicassumptionswh
3、ichpreservetheessentialphysicsoftheproblem.Thevariationofstrainrateinthelongitudinalandlateraldirectionsisretained,butauniformstrainrateinthethicknessdirectionisassumedgivingcomputationalefficiency.InterfacemodelswhichrecovertheclassicalCoulombmodelandthefr
4、ictionfactormodelareimplemented,andtwoconstitutivemodelsareincorporated.Theeffectoffrictiononlateralflowisexamined,andthetrendsarequalitativelycomparedtorecentpublisheddata.Resultsarealsopresentedfortworolling-typedeformationprocessesusingdifferentplatensha
