3、ceburrs.Theseburrscauseseveralproblemsforproductqualityandfunctionalityastheycaninterferewithassemblyofpartsormayreducethefatiguelife.Deburringofmicro-structuresisespeciallydifficultduetobadaccessibilityandtighttolerances.Insomecases,duetopartfragilityoredgetolerances,deburringofmic

4、ro-partsisnotpossible.Therefore,reducingburrisveryimportantinmicro-machining.Understandingtheburrformationanditsdominantparametersisessentialforpredictingandreducingburr.Veryfewstudies[1][2]havebeenperformedontheburrsresultingfrommicro-drilling.Micro-burrformationinaluminumalloyhasb

5、eeninvestigatedwithrespecttocuttingconditions[2].Thefundamentalmechanismsarenotwellunderstood.Previousresearch[3]hadestablishedbasicburrtypesintheconventionaldrillingoflowallysteel.Burrshapeisthemostimportantbecausetheburrsize,andasaresult,deburringcostisgreatlydependentonit.Threedi

6、fferentshapesofburrswereobservedasseeninFigure1.Theuniformburrhasrelativelysmallanduniformburrheightandthicknessaroundtheholeperiphery.Thecrownburrhasalargerandirregularheightdistributionaroundthehole.Thetransientburrisatypeofburrformedinthetransientstagebetweentheuniformburrandthec

7、rownburr.Theworkpresentedinthispaperinvestigatesthefactorswhichsignificantlyinfluencetheburrformationprocessinmicro-drilling.Theburrswhichresultfrommicro-drillinginthedifferentmaterialshavebeencharacterizedandarecomparedtoconventionaldrilling.Analysisofthedatafortheeffectofdiameter,
