1、YorkshireCommonPermitSchemeForRoadWorks&StreetWorksIntroductionTheYorkshireCommonPermitSchemeforRoadWorksandStreetWorksismadepursuanttoPart3oftheTMA2004,Sections32-39andtheTrafficManagementPermitSchemes(England)Regulations2007,StatutoryInstrument2007,No.3372,madeonthe28thNovember2007.Introductiont

2、oPermitSchemesPermitschemeswereintroducedbyPart3oftheTrafficManagementAct2004(TMA)toimproveauthorities’abilitiestominimisedisruptionfromstreetandhighwayworks.PermitSchemesprovideanewwaytomanageactivitiesincertainstreetsinthePublicHighway.IntroductiontoPermitSchemeInpermitstreets,insteadofinforming

3、aStreetAuthorityabouttheirintentionstocarryoutworksinthearea,allworkspromoterswillneedtoobtainapermitfortheirworks.Permitschemesprovideachangetothe‘NotificationSystem’undertheNewRoadsandStreetWorksAct,1991(NRSWA).SchemePurposeandObjectivesToenableimprovedLAcoordinationandcontrolofworksonhighway.To

4、reducedelayanddisruptiontotravellingpublic.Tosavetrafficcongestionandreducevehicleoperatingcosts.Todemonstrateparity.ElementsinCommonwiththeNRSWANoticeSystemRegisteredActivities/Works;CategoriesofActivities/Works(Major,Standard,MinorandImmediate);StreetGazetteers,includingstreetreferences,bymeanso

5、fUniqueStreetReferenceNumbers(USRN)andAdditionalStreetData(ASD);ThedistinctionbetweenMainroadsandMinorroads;Streetsdesignatedasprotected,havingspecialengineeringdifficultyortrafficsensitivity.KeyPointsofPermitsApermitisonlyvalidfortheperiodoftimestatedonthepermit.Thestartandenddateswillbeincalenda
