2、oceduresdevelopedforthispurpose.Theseproceduresaredesignedtocreatestand-alonedisplaysthatcomplementthemorespecializedgraphsproducedbythestatisticalproceduresthatusetheODSStatisticalGraphicsinfrastructure.Sincethesenewproceduresandthestatisticalproceduresusethesameinfrastructure
3、,graphscreatedwithalloftheseproceduresareconsistentintheirappearanceandinthewaytheyareproducedandmanaged.Thenew“SG”familyofproceduresincludesSGPLOT,SGPANEL,SGSCATTER,andSGRENDER.TheSGPLOTprocedurecreatessingle-celledplotsthatcanbeconstructedwithavarietyofplottypes,alongwithdata
4、smoothers,fittedcurves,andotherstatisticalfeatures.TheSGPANELprocedurecreatespaneledplotsandchartswherethepanelingisdrivenbyclassificationvariables.TheSGSCATTERprocedurecreatespaneledscatterplotsandmatriceswithsupportforfittedlines,confidencebands,andcomputedellipses.Thesethree
5、proceduresaredesignedwithasyntaxthatispowerfulyetconcise.TheSGRENDERprocedureisuniqueinthatitcreatescustomizedplotsbyrenderinguser-definedtemplateswrittenintheGraphTemplateLanguage.Thispresentationprovidesexamplesshowinghowyoucanusetheseproceduresinyourownwork.INTRODUCTIONAneff
6、ectiveplotcanrevealtrendsorpatternsinyourdatathatmighthaveotherwiseremainedhiddenintheirtabularform.Itisalsoimportantthattheprocessforcreatingtheseplotsbestraightforwardenoughnottodetractfromtheanalysis.Ifalargeamountofeffortisrequiredtocreatetheplotsyouneedfortheanalysis,thenv
