4、auling[1].WeThemainpremisesofPauling'sapproachareasfollows:showthatresonanceinvolvingthesestructureslargelyde-1.Inmetalstheatomspossessanorbitalfreetoreceiveelec-terminesthestabilityandconformationoftheLi4clustertrons,themetallicorbital,inadditiontothoseoccupiedbyandpl
5、aysacentralroleinaVBexplanationofthe3-centerbondingelectronsandunsharedelectronpairs.2.Inaddi-bondsinplanaralkaliclusters.Thetheorycanmakequalita-tiontothesynchronizedresonanceamongtheusualcovalenttivepredictionsonthebehaviourofgeneralmetallicclusters,Kekuletypestructu
