4、rweaklyscatteringlayers,wehavedevelopedaneffectiveanalyticalapproachandhavecalculatedthetransmissionlengthwithinawiderangeoftheinputparameters.Thisenablesustodescribe,inaunifiedway,thelocalizedandballisticregimesaswellasthecrossoverbetweenthem.Whenbothrefractiveindexandlayerthicknessofamixedstackare
5、random,thetransmissionlengthinthelong-waverangeofthelocalizedregimeexhibitsaquadraticpowerwavelengthdependencewithdif-ferentcoefficientsofproportionalityformixedandhomogeneousstacks.Moreover,thetransmissionlengthofamixedstackdiffersfromthereciprocaloftheLyapunovexponentofthecorrespondinginfinitestack.
6、Inboththeballisticregimeofamixedstackandinthenearlong-waveregionofahomogeneousstack,thetransmissionlengthofarealizationisastronglyfluctuatingquantity.Inthefarlong-wavepartoftheballisticregion,thehomogeneousstackbecomeseffectivelyuniformandthetransmissionlengthfluctuationsareweaker.Thecrossoverregionf
7、romthelocalizationtotheballisticregimeisrelativelynarrowforbothmixedandhomogeneousstacks.Inmixedstackswithonlyrefractive-indexdisorder,Andersonlocalizationatlongwavelengthsissubstantiallysup-pressed,withthelocali
