3、quetorotatecolumnheaderswithouthavingtopost-processinMicrosoftWordwillbedemonstrated,usingPCSASVersion8.2andPCSASVersion9.1,aswellasUNIXSASVersion8.2.Thecodetoproduceasampletablewillbedissectedbelow,withrelevantitemshigh-lightedingray“tip”boxes.Thefullprogramandsampletableisalsoav
4、ailableasanappendix.INTRODUCTIONAswithmanyinnovativeprogrammingtechniques,thesub-jectofthispaperaroseoutoftheprogrammer’sdesiretoproducethebestresultwiththeleastamountofin-personinterventionpossible.IwaspresentedwithaseriesofspreadsheetscreatedbyhandinMicrosoftExcel,andaskedto“fil
5、lthemin”withdatafromanationalsurvey.PreviousprogrammersworkingonsimilarprojectshadusedSAStoproducethedesiredstatistics,butcutandpastedboththeSAStabulationsandtheMicrosoftExcel“shells”intoMicrosoftWord.Mychallengebecametoavoidthepitfallsofirreproducibleresults(nottomentionallthatmo
6、usework!),andoutputSAStabulationsdirectlyintoMi-crosoftWordviatheRTFdestinationortagsetinexactlytheformatshowninthepre-designedMicrosoftExceltemplates(sampleatright).DECISIONS,DECISIONSSincethefinalreportsweretobesubmittedinMicrosoftWord,thechoiceofanoutputdestinationortagsetwasea
