1、eUCP1.1IntroductionTheofficialnameforthispublicationis“SupplementtotheUniformCustomsandPracticeforDocumentaryCreditsforElectronicPresentation(Version1.1)”.Itusestheacronym“eUCP”.DuringthecourseofdraftingUCP600,ICCnationalcommitteesindicatedthat,duetothelimitedusage
2、ofeUCPVersion1.0,theeUCPshouldremainasasupplementtotheUCP.Version1.1has,therefore,beenupdatedsolelytoreflectthechangesmadeinUCPwithregardtoterminologyandstyleofpresentation.TheeUCPcontinuestoprovidedefinitionspermittingUCP600terminologytoaccommodatetheelectronicpre
3、sentationoftheequivalentofpaperdocumentsandprovidingnecessaryrulestoallowbothsetsofrulestoworktogether.TheeUCPallowsforpresentationelectronicallyorforamixtureofpaperdocumentsandelectronicpresentation.ItisimportantfortheeUCPreadertounderstandthatmanyarticlesoftheUCP
4、arenotimpactedbythepresentationoftheelectronicequivalentofpaperdocumentsanddonotrequireanychangestoaccommodateelectronicpresentation.Whenreadtogether,theUCPandtheeUCPprovidethenecessaryrulesforelectronicpresentationandarebroadenoughtoanticipatedevelopingpracticeint
5、hisarea.WherespecificwordsorphrasesusedintheUCParedefinedintheeUCP,thesedefinitions,unlessotherwisestated,applywhereverthetermsappearintheUCP.eUCPVersion1.1isspecifictoUCP600and,ifnecessary,mayhavetoberevisedastechnologiesdevelop,perhapspriortothenextrevisionoftheU
6、CP.Forthatpurpose,theeUCPisissuedinversionnumbersthatwillallowforarevisionandsubsequentversioniftheneedarises.TheeUCPhasbeenspecificallydraftedtobeindependentofspecifictechnologiesanddevelopingelectroniccommercesystems,i.e.,itdoesnotaddressspecifictechnologiesorsys
7、temsnecessarytofacilitateelectronicpresentation.Thesetechnologiesareevolving,anditislefttothepartiestothecredittoagreeonthetechnologyorsystemstobeusedforpresentationofelectronicrecordsincompliancewiththerequirementsoftheeUCP.TheeUCPhasbeencreatedtomeetthedemandsoft
