3、dbythemodelandobservationsatfourdifferentgeomagneticobservatories,fordifferentmagneticdisturbancelevels.Resultsshowtheabilityofthemodeltopickupthegrossfeaturesofthemagneticvariations,improvingitsperformancewithincreasingdisturbancelevelandfromlowtohighlatitudes.Duringgeomagneticallyquiescentcond
4、itionsabaselinenoiseofabout5nTisevidentinreconstructedgroundmagneticfieldsignatures,whichweattributetothebaselinenoiselevelintheAMPEREcurrents.Forvariationsshorterthanabout30minthemodeledsignalsareoftensignificantlylowerthanobservedbyafactorupto3to4,possiblyreflectinglocalizedionizationstructure
5、snotcapturedintheTIEGCMconductancemodules,ormissingsmall-scaleandrapidtemporalvariationsinauroralcurrents.Whiletheobservedhorizontalfieldvariationsarereflectedinthemodel,theverticalcomponentisconsistentlyunderestimated,possiblyindicatingerrorsintheestimatesforgroundinductioncurrents.Comparisonwi
