5、armexperiencedcatastrophictechnicalmalfunctionswiththeirtorpedoes.ThesemalfunctionsrobbedtheGermansoftremendoussuccessduringthemostcriticalperiodoftheSecondWorldWar–theopeningyearsduringwhichAlliedanti-submarinemeasureswereattheirpoorestandGermanprospectsforsuccessconcomit

6、antlyattheirgreatest.BythetimetheGermansfinallysucceededinremovingalloftheseproblemsandrealizedthetruepotentialofthetorpedoenvisionedduringtheprewaryears,Alliedanti-submarinewarfaretacticsandespeciallytechnologyhadadvancedtosuchadegreethatitcouldnotbeovercomedespitethebest
