4、keMad,isuniversallyrequiredforSmadfamily,whichcanbegroupedintothreeclassesbaseddppsignaling.Furthermore,weshowthatthenecessityforonsequencesimilarities.Ourpreviousidentificationofthesetwocloselyrelated,non-redundantSmads,isduetobothclassIandIISmadsfunctioni
5、nginasinglepathwaytheirdifferentsignalingproperties–uponactivationoftheinC.elegans,raisedtheissueofwhethertherequirementDpppathway,MadisrequiredtoactivelytranslocateforSmadsderivedfromdifferentclassesisageneralMedeaintothenucleus.Theseresultsprovideaparadi
