4、33employeesinfor-profitandnon-profitorganizationstoelaboratetheoryonjobcrafting.Wespecificallyfocusonhowemployeesatdifferentranksdescribeperceivingandadaptingtochallengesintheexecutionofjobcrafting.Elaboratingthechallengesemployeesperceiveinjobcraftingandtheirresponsestothemdetailstheadaptiveaction
5、thatmaybenecessaryforjobcraftingtooccur.Specifically,ourfindingssuggestthathigher-rankemployeestendtoseethechallengestheyfaceinjobcraftingaslocatedintheirownexpectationsofhowtheyandothersshouldspendtheirtime,whilelower-rankemployeestendtoseetheirchallengesaslocatedintheirprescribedjobsandothers‟exp
6、ectationsofthem.Thenatureofeachgroup‟sperceivedchallengesisrelatedtotheadaptivemovesthattheymaketoovercomethem,suchthathigher-rankemployeesadapttheirownexpectationsandbehaviorstomakedowithperceivedopportunitiestojobcraftatwork,whilelower-rankemployeesadaptothers‟expectationsandbehaviorstocreateoppo
