5、tedinthispaper.NOxmainlyconsistofNOandlessconcentrationofNO2inatypicaltwostokemarinedieselengineandmicrowaveplasmagenerationcancompletelyremoveNO.MWwasgeneratedusingtwo2kWmicrowavesourcesandasawtoothpassiveelectrode.Passiveelectrodewasusedtogeneratehighelectricfieldregionwith

6、inmicrowaveenvironmentwherehighenergeticelectrons(1-3eV)areproducedforthegenerationofnon-thermalplasma(NTP).2kWgen-setdieselexhaustgaswasusedtotestourpilot-scaleMWplasmareactor.Theexperimentalresultsshowthatalmost100%removalofNOispossiblefortheexhaustgasflowrateof60l/s.Itwasa

7、lsoshownthatMWcansignificantlyremovesootparticles(PM,10nmto365nm)entrainedintheexhaustgasof200kWmarinedieselenginewith40%engineloadandgasflowrateof130l/s.MWwithoutgeneratingplasmashowedreductionupto50%reductionofPMandwiththeplasmaupto90%reduction.Themajorchallengeintheseexper
