5、heintegrationofBuildingInformationModeling(BIM)andGeographicInformationSystem(GIS)hasbeenidentifiedasapromisingbutchallengingtopictotransforminformationtowardsthegenerationofknowledgeandintelligence.Achievementofintegratingthesetwoconceptsandenablingtechnologieswillha

6、veasignificantimpactonsolvingproblemsinthecivil,buildingandinfrastructuresectors.However,sinceGISandBIMwereoriginallydevelopedfordifferentpurposes,numerouschallengesarebeingencounteredfortheintegration.Tobetterunderstandthesetwodifferentdomains,thispaperreviewsthedeve

7、lopmentanddissimilaritiesofGISandBIM,theexistingintegrationmethods,andinvestigatestheirpotentialinvariousapplications.Thisstudyshowsthattheintegrationmethodsaredevelopedforvariousreasonsandaimtosolvedifferentproblems.Theparametersinfluencingthechoicecanbesummarizedand
