3、micderailmentmechanismsofhigh-speedvehiclessubjectedtostrongcrosswinds.Theeffectsofthecrosswindspeeds,crosswindattackangle,andvehiclespeedontheoperationalsafetyofthevehiclewereexamined.Theoperationalsafetyboundariesofahigh-speedvehiclesubjectedtocrosswindsweredeter
4、mined.Thenumericalresultsobtainedindicatethatcrosswindsatattackanglesof75°to90°withrespecttotheforwarddirectionofthevehiclehaveagreatinfluenceonthesafetyofoperatinghigh-speedrailwayvehicles.Thewheelsetunloadinglimit,whichdeterminesthepositionofthewarningboundarydiv

6、speedrail-waysaroundtheworld,theoperatingsafetyofhigh-speedtrainshasbecomeoneofthemajorcon-cernsofcurrentrailwayresearch.Fatalrailwayac-cidents,whicharethecatastrophicconsequencesofunsafeoperatingconditions,shouldbeprevented(Evans,2011;SillaandKallberg,2012).Strong
7、crosswindsareamongtheextremeforcesofnaturethatthreatenthesafeoperationoftrains.Manyrail-wayvehicleshavebeenblownoverbyextremecrosswindsinlocationsaroundtheworld.AsshowninFig.1,onthe28thofFebruary,2007,atrainfromUrumqitoAksuwasblownoffitstrackbystrongwindsinTurpan,X
