2、NIR-II)window,”hasquicklyemergedasahighlyhavebeenundertakentoenhancetheattractiveopticalregionforbiologicalimaging.Incontrasttoconventionalresolution,sensitivity,penetrationdepth,imaginginthevisibleregionbetween400and700nm,aswellasinthefirstaccuracy,andacquisitiontimeofbiolog-icalimagi

3、ngthroughingeniousinnova-NIR(NIR-I)windowbetween700and900nm,NIR-IIbiologicalimagingtionsandadvancementsinitsimagingoffersnumerousmerits,includinghigherspatialresolution,deeperprobesandinstrumentation.penetrationdepth,andloweropticalabsorptionandscatteringfrombiologicalConventionalnonin

4、vasivebiologicalsubstrateswithminimaltissueautofluorescence.Noninvasiveimagingimagingmethods,notablyluminescencetechniques,specificallyNIR-IIfluorescenceandphotoacoustic(PA)imaging,andphotoacoustic(PA)imaging,typicallyoperateinthefirstnear-infrared(NIR-I)haveembodiedtheattractivenessof

5、NIR-IIopticalimaging,withseveralregionoftheelectromagneticspec-NIR-IIcontrastagentsdemonstratingsuperiorperformancetotheclinically[7]trumbetween700and900nm.WhileapprovedNIR-Iagents.Consequently,NIR-IIbiologicalimaginghasbeenimagingattheNIR-Iwindowhasbeenincreasinglyexploredduetoitstrem

6、endouspotentialforpreclinicalstudiesthegoldstandardforthelastseveraldec-andclinicalutility.Herein,theprogressofopticalimagingintheNIR-IIadesandhascontributedconsiderablytowindowisreported.Startingwithhighlightingtheimportanceofbiologicaltheadvancementsofbiologyandmedi-cine,therearestil

7、lplentyofroomsforimagingintheNIR-IIspectralregion,theemergenceandlatestdevelopmentimprovement.Inparticular,lightabsorp-ofvariousNIR-IIfluorescenceandPAimagingprobesandtheirapplicationstionandscatteringfrombloodandotherarethendiscussed.Perspectivesonthepromisesandchallengesfacingthisb
