2、mputerModernRoman11pt.PrefaceForanotyetestablishedUnmannedAerialVehicle(UAV)competitionaprototypeUAVisneeded.ThisUAVhastobeabletorecognizeamovingvehicle.WhenthisvehicleisrecognizedtheUAVshouldbeabletokeeptrackingthevehicle.Thisprototypewillbeusedtoshowthatthechallengesofthecompeti
3、tionarefeasible.Itwillalsobeusedtomakepromotionalmaterialslikevideos.Twoteamswillbeworkingonthisprototype;ateamoftenstudentsofAerospaceEngineeringandateamofsixstudentsofElectricalEngineering.TheAerospaceEngineeringstudentswilldesignaxedwingUAV.We,asElectricalEngineeringstudents,w
4、illdeveloptheelectricalsystem.Adesignbriefwasdraftedtostatetherequirementswewanttomeet(seeAppendixA).Thedevelopmentoftheelectricalsystemissplitupinthreesub-groupsoftwostudents.Oneteamisresponsibleforthedevelopmentofadataconnectiontoagroundstation.Theyalsovisualizetheinformationtha
5、tisexchangedbetweentheUAVandthegroundstation.Thesecondteamdevelopsanintelligentcamerasystemthatrecognizesandtracksthevehicle.We,theauthorsofthisthesis,willdevelopasensorsystemandenableourtestUAVto yautonomously.AfunctionalblockdiagramofthewholesystemcanbefoundinAppendixBwheretheel
