3、anada.Itfocusesinparticularontheexemptionofgolfcoursesfromtheprovince’sCosmeticPesticidesBanActof2009.Drawingfromawiderangeofmaterials,theauthorsfirstcontextualizeOntario’srecentlawthroughanoverviewofthehistoricaldevelopmentofpre-andpost-marketpesticideregulationinCanada.Thisincludesarevie
4、wofthefiercedebatesthathaveattimesarisenbetweenpro-andanti-chemicalfactions.Fromthere,theauthorsevaluatetheCosmeticPesticidesBanAct.Inonesense,thelaw–andespeciallygolf’sexemptionfromthelaw–issaidtoexemplify“environmentalmanagerialist”decision-making,wherebygovernmentsmustsatisfya“dualmanda
5、te”ofpromotingeconomicgrowthandenvironmentalsustainabilitysimultaneously.Inanother,relatedway,itisseenasdemonstrativeofan“ecologicalmodernist”approachtoenvironmentalproblemsinwhichindustry-led,technologically-advancedsolutionsareprivilegedaboveothers.Takentogether,golf’s“specialstatus”inOn
