3、evelopedandemergenteconomies.Indevelopedcountries,thetighteningofthebreadthandwidthofIPRoverthelastthirtyyearsorsodidnotseemtodisplayanypositiveeffectontheratesofinnovation.Indeed,thereiscircumstantialevidencetotheopposite.And,indeed,asoundtheoreticconsiderationofthenatureoftechnologicalk
4、nowledgeandthedriversofitsaccumulationfullyrevealsthelimitation,possibleeventheperverseeffects,ofIPRs.Allthisisonlyreinforcedinthecaseofcatching-upcountries,withrespecttowhichboththeoryandhistoricalexperiencesuggestthatlooseandlimitedIPRaremostconducivetoknowledgeaccumulationandtechnologi
