4、insstaticovertime.Thisstudyexaminesthisassump-tionbycomparingthecharacteristicsofnote-leaversofthesamepopulationat2differentpointsintime.Theauthorsinvestigatedthecharacteristicsof316note-leaversin2000inHongKongandcomparedthemtonote-leaversin1992.Theproportionofpeoplewho
5、leftsuicidenotesincreasedfrom20%to35%between1992and2000,achangethatmayberelatedtochangesinsuicidemethods.Note-leaversin2000werecharacterizedasindividualsaged25–59yearsold,employed,withnophysicalillness,nopsychiatricillness,anddiedasaresultofcharcoal-burning.Presentdatas
