3、itesaregettingmorecomplexwithtransponderconnectivityrequirements,multiplecoveragebeams,etcetera.Hence,satelliteoperatorsincreasinglydemandflexibilityinfunction,efficientsignalroutingandsignalprocessing.Therefore,futureapplicationsinmultimediasatellit

4、ecommunicationsrequireinnovativecomponentswithhighRF-performanceand,atthesametime,withlowweight,smallsize,andhighreliability.Advancedintegrationandpackagingtechnologies,suchaslowtemperatureco-firedceramics(LTCC),combinedifferentdesigntechniqueswithlo

5、wcostoffabrication,smallsizeandmultiplefunctionality.LTCCtechnologyprovidesmodular,hybrid-integratedsystemswithahighdegreeofminiaturizationofmicrowavepayloadequipmentand,hence,flexibilityforadaptationtovaryingapplications.Itisoneofthereasons,whyLTCCb

6、ecameverypopular,notonlyforlowfrequencydesigns,butforhighfrequenciesinthemicrowaveandevenmillimeter-waverangesaswell.ThispaperfocusesonbandpassfiltersforKa-banddownlinkfrequenciesasimportantpartsofmultimediasatellitesignalchains,whicharebasedonLTCCmu

7、ltilayertechnologyandcanbecombinedwithotherKa-bandmicrowaveLTCCmodulespresentlyunderdevelopment.Thetwofilterspresentedheredisplayhighstop-bandisolationforanefficientsuppressionoftheKa-banduplinkfrequencies,andlowinsertionloss.Theyaredevelopedforsepar
