2、plesttheoryofnonlinearviscoelasticitytakingintoaccountstressrelaxation.Themodelisa3Dnonlineargeneralizationofthestandardthree-parametermodelof1Dclas-sicalviscoelasticity.Intheframeworkofthistheory,weexaminesomesimpledeformations.Firstofall,weconsiderahomogeneousdeformationasapossi

3、bleidealizationoftheusualtriaxialtest.Bythisanalysis,weshowthatthemodelunderinvestigationmaybeinterestingtodescribethemechanicalbehaviorofmaterialslikebitumenandhotmixasphalt.Moreover,weinvestigatetheevolutionofshearingmotions(mainlyinthequasi-staticapproximation)topointoutseveral

4、aspectsoftherichmechanicalresponseofconstitutivetheoriesinimplicitform.1IntroductionTheincreasinguseofpolymericsolidmaterialscallsforcomplexmathematicalmodelsgoingbeyondinfin-itesimalstrainsandthat,besidesinstantaneouselasticresponsetostress,takeintoaccountphenomenalikedelayedelast

5、icresponseandstressrelaxation.Thesamehappenswhenwestudy,viacontinuummechanics,manygeo-materialslikebitumen,hotmixasphaltsandrocks.Usuallygeneralmodelsfor3Dnonlinearviscoelasticityproposedintheliteraturearequitecomplex(seeforexample[1])andforthisreasonanymathematicalanalysisisdisco

6、uraged.Recently,averysimplemodelofnonlinearviscoelasticitywhichisafeasible3DanalogueoftheclassicalKelvinVoigtsolidhavebeenconsideredbyseveralauthors.Forexample,somegeneralmathematicalfeaturesofthisnonlinearKelvinVoigtmodelhavebeeninvestigatedbyQuintanillaandSaccomandi[2].Itiswellk
