5、tmathematicsandleadstomanybeautifulinsightsintostatisticalsignalprocessing.Althoughpredictionisonlyapartofthemoregeneraltopicsoflinearestimation,filtering,andsmoothing,thisbookfocusesonlinearprediction.Thishasenableddetaileddiscussionofanumberofissuesthatarenormallynot
6、foundintexts.Forexample,thetheoryofvectorlinearpredictionisexplainedinconsiderabledetailandsoisthetheoryoflinespectralprocesses.Thisfocusanditssmallsizemakethebookdifferentfrommanyexcellenttextswhichcoverthetopic,includingafewthatareactuallydedicatedtolinearprediction.
