3、theintersectionofthetunnelsurfaceanddisconti-nuitiesintherockmass.Predictionandpreventionoffallingblocksdemandsaremovabilityanalysisontherockblocksbasedonaprecisecharacterizationofdiscontinuitiesintherockmassesaroundthetunnel.Thevolumesofpossibleunstableblocksareevaluatedusin

4、gDis-creteFractureNetwork(DFN)methodandtheforcesactingonblocksanddesignedsupportpatternsarealsoestimatedusingnumericalmethodssuchasDistinctElementMethod(DEM)approach.1InDFNmodelingthefracturesystemgeometrybasedonstochasticrepresentationsoffrac-turesystems,usingtheprobabilisti

5、cdensityfunctionsoffractureparameters(e.g.orien-tation,sizeandlocationandaperture)formulatedaccordingtofieldmappingresults.DFNpresentsamorerealisticrepresentationofgeologyandfracturenetworkgeometry.Theprob-lemingeneratedDFNmodelsiscalibrationformakingrepresentativerealizations

6、ofDFN.UsingsomestatisticaltestssuchWilliam-Watson(W-W)testthemostfittedDFNmodelswithmappedfractureinthefieldareselectedforblockstabilityanalysis.TheW-Wtestisastatisticaltestofmeansforsphericaldatawhichisconductedonthecompositedatasettodeterminetheequivalencyonthemeanfractureori
