3、ton.Inthefirstmoreprecisely,oftwoparts:alogarithmicallydivergentsectionthevacuumofthenon-interactingelectromagneticmultipleoftheexternalcurrentatthatpoint,whichandmatterfieldsiscovariantlydefinedasthatstateforproducesanunobservablerenormalizationofcharge,andwh
4、ichtheeigenvalueofanarbitrarytime-likecomponentamoreinvolvedfinitecontribution,whichisthephysicallyoftheenergy-momentumfour-vectorisanabsolutesignificantinducedcurrent.Thelatteragreeswiththeminimum.Itisremarkedthatthisdefinitionmustberesultsofpreviousinvestiga
5、tions.Themodificationofthecompatiblewiththerequirementt'hatthevacuumexpec-matterfieldpropertiesarisingfrominteractionwiththetationvaluesofaphysicalquantityinvariouscoordinatevacuumfluctuationsoftheelectromagneticfieldiscon-systemsshouldbe,notonlycovariantlyrel

7、uitablecharacterizationofthevacuumstatevector,acondition,theotherusingthetransversepotential,withcovariantdecompositionofthefieldoperatorsintopositivethevariablesofthesupplementaryconditioneliminated.andnegativefrequencycomponentsisintroduced,andtheItisnotedth
