2、isdevelopedinthelightofanewworkequationproposed4'byBurlnndl4l.Twoothernewconceptsareintroduced.First,anewyield-'(43)locustotakeaccountofthesheardistortionthatoccurs,withoutplasticvolumechange,forstatepathsbeneaththestatzboundarysurface.Secondly,inglinctheMohr-Coulombcriterionisincorporated

3、inthetheorytopredictrupture.!icark,when'wet'claysaresubjectedtostresspathsinthree-dimensionalstress.space.Themechanicalbehaviourofagiven'wet'clayundersuchageneral>Q.0)systemispredictedfromthethreesoilconstants,M,AandKobtainedfrom'triaxial'compressiontests.:(4.10)Aftershowingthat'triwial'ex
