3、edfortheinvestigationderivedfromexperimentsconductedonaCNClatheaccordingtothefullfactorialdesigntoobservetheeffectofeachfactorlevelontheprocessperformance.Astheexperimentsweredesignedusinganorthogonalarrays,theestimatesoftheaverageeffectswillnotbebiased.Durin
4、gthetests,thedepthofcutandfeedratewerekeptconstantandeachtestwasconductedwithasharpuncoatedtoolinsert.Foracomparison,themaincuttingforceandthetemperaturegeneratedinsecondaryshearzonefordifferentcuttingparametersandtoolgeometrieswerecalculatedbyKienzleapproac
5、handwithbasedonorthogonalcuttingmechanism,respectively.Theaveragedeviationbetweenmeasuredandcalculatedforceresultswerefoundas0.26%.ForstatisticalanalyzetheorthogonalarraysasL16wasusedwithatotalof16tests.Finally,itwasfoundthatrakeanglewaseffectiveonallthecutt
