3、nciliationrequirementsforforeignprivateissuersusingIFRSbeginningin2007,andestablishingaS“roadmap”foradoptionbyUSpubliccompaniesby2016).WithfurtherrefinementstoIFRScontinuingtobemadebytheInternationalAccountingStandardsBoard(IASB)—aidedbyworkbeingper-formedpursuanttothe“converg
4、ence”commitmentmadebytheUSstandard-setter,FinancialAccountingStandardsBoard(FASB)—andgiventhenowvirtuallyunstoppablemomentumworldwidetoadopt(or,insomecases,adapt)IFRS,masteryofthisknowledgeisbecominganecessityfor2010allpreparersoffinancialstatements.AlthoughonlypubliclyheldUSc
5、ompaniesarefacinganimpendingnear-termmandatetoconverttoIFRS,manyprivatecompaniesalreadyareencounteringrequestsordemandsfromtheirmajorcustomers,suppliers,jointventurepartners,andaffiliatesInIntoprovidefinancialreportspreparedunderIFRS.Inalllikelihood,replacementofUSGAAPbyIFRSwi
6、llbecomearealityforevenprivatelyheldteteInterpretationandenterpriseswithintheforeseeableterm.ExperiencefromEU-basedcompaniesthatimplementedIFRSfinancialreportingby2005suggeststhatsuchanundertakingmayrequirearnrpre2010multiyeareffort.WileyIFRS2010providesacompleteexplanationofa
