3、orkoutside(external)oftheagencythatprovidesfunding.FacilitiesandAdministrativeCosts(F&A):Thisistheoverheadchargedbyyouruniversityoragencyreceivingthegrantawardforoperatingcosts—alsocalledindirectcosts.Fellowships:Theseprovidesupport(usuallyprimarilysalary)foranindividualforspecifictrainingandresearc

4、hactivities.FundingMechanisms:Thisreferstothespecifictypeofgrant,forinstance,predoctoralfellowshipsorresearchgrants.Thisisimportantbecausethereareseveraltypesofgrantsandfellowships.Grants:Theseprovidemoneytoaneligibleentity(suchasauniversity)foradesignatedinvestigatortocarryoutaspecificapprovedproje
