3、tionofthedifferentialacStarkshiftofthemicrowavehyperfineclocktransitionintrapped87Rbatoms.Recentprogressinmetrologyexploitsso-calledmagicwavelengths,wherebyanatomicensemblecanbetrappedwithlaserlightwhosewavelengthischosensothatbothlevelsofanopticalatomictransitionexp

4、erienceidenticalacStarkshifts.Similarmagic-wavelengthtechniquesarenotpossibleforthemicrowavehyperfinetransitionsinthealkalimetalsduetotheirsimpleelectronicstructure.Weshow,however,thatacStarkshiftcancellationisindeedachievableforcertainvaluesofwavelength,polarization
