2、Locallyadvancedbreastcancer(LABC)constitutesaheterogeneousentitythatincludesadvanced‑stageprimaryt
3、umours,cancerswithextensivenodalinvolvementandinflammatorybreastcarcinomas.AlthoughthedefinitionofLABCcanbebroadenedtoincludesomelargeoperablebreasttumours,weusethistermtostrictlyrefertoinoperablecancersthatareincludedintheabove‑mentionedcategories.Thep
4、rognosisofsuchtumoursisoftenunfavourable;despiteaggressivetreatment,manypatientseventuallydevelopdistantmetastasesanddiefromthedisease.Advancesinsystemictherapy,includingradiationtreatment,surgicaltechniquesandthedevelopmentofnewtargetedagentshavesignif
5、icantlyimprovedclinicaloutcomesforpatientswiththisdisease.Notwithstandingtheseadvances,LABCremainsanimportantclinicalproblem,particularlyindevelopingcountriesandthosewithoutwidelyadaptedbreastcancerawarenessprogrammes.TheoptimalmanagementofLABCrequiresa
