1、I.INTRODUCTIONTherehasbeeninterestinrecentyearsintheideaofusinghighrangeresolution(HRR)profilestoaidinTargetMotionandHighRangethetrackingofhigh-valuetargets(HVTs)[1—3].HRRprofilesareone-dimensionalrepresentationsoftargets,ResolutionProfileGenerationandcanbegeneratedfromrange-Dopplerimag

2、esconstructedfromradardata.TheuseofHRRprofilesisadeparturefromsyntheticapertureradar(SAR)automatictargetrecognition(ATR),whichattemptsDAVIDW.WINTERStoclassifyanddiscriminateHVTsusingthefull2-DTheMITRECorporationrange-Dopplerrepresentationofthetarget[4,5].OnemotivationforusingHRRprofiles

3、isthatitcanbeeasiertoworkwithone-dimensionalquantities(HRRprofiles)thanitistoworkwithtwo-dimensionalTheproblemofforminghighrangeresolution(HRR)profilesquantities(range-Dopplerimages).Anothermotivationfromradardataofmovingtargetsisconsidered.HRRprofilescanisthatsincetheDopplerdimensionha

4、sbeenremoved,resultfromprocessingrange-Dopplerimagesoftargets,wherebyHRRprofilesshouldbelesssensitivetotargetmotion.the2-Drange-Dopplerimageiscollapsedintoa1-Drangeprofile.Thisisimportantwhenthegoalistodiscriminatetargetsbaseduponthereflectionofftheirsurfaces,TheinterestinHRRprofilescan

5、partlybeexplainedbytheandnotupontheirmotion.However,caremustbehypothesisthattheycanbeusedtocharacterizeanddiscriminatetakenwhengeneratingHRRprofilesofmovingtargets.HRRprofilesarealsoofinterestbecauseoftheirpotentialtargets.tobelesssensitivethanrange-Dopplerimagestotargetmotion.Ithasbeen

6、knownforsometimethatTwodifferentapproachestoforminganHRRprofilefromarange-Dopplerimagesofmovingtargetscanbecomerange-Dopplerimageofamovingtargetareexamined.Theblurredifatargethassignificantvelocityandadvantagesanddisadvantagesofeachapproacharediscussed.accelerationcomponentsinthedirecti
