3、Theresearchdescribedisbasedonasocioculturalconceptionandanalysisofeducation,whichfocusesonthewaysthatchildrencanbeinductedintothecommunicativeandintellectualactivitiesoftheclassroomasa‘communityofenquiry’.Theresearchhasprovided(a)anaccountofstrategiesteachersuse,andforrelati
4、ngteacher’sscaffoldingtotheinteractiveprocessofknowledgeconstruction;(b)ananalysisofwaysthatchildrentalkwhenworkingtogetheronjointactivities;and(c)apracticalmethodforpromotingchildren’seffectivecollaboration,communication,reasoningandlearning,successfullytestedwithBritishand
