5、RadiationdamageandFiberlink1.IntroductionThetransmissioncharacteristicsofopticalfiberareverymuchinfluencedinradiationenvironmentduetogenerationofradiationinduceddefectcentersbyionizationandatomicdisplacementwithinthemolecularbondingnetworkofsilica(SiO2)glass[1,2].Thegenerateddefectcent
6、erscauseabsorptioninultraviolet(UV),visible(VIS)ornearinfrared(IR)regionandareresponsibleforradiationsensitivityofthefiber.Theradiationinducedlossinopticalfiberdependslargelyoncorecladcomposition,dopantconcentration,fiberdesignalongwithdifferentradiationparameterslikeradiationsource,do
