1、AnimationAnimationistherapiddisplayofasequenceofimagesof2-Dor3-Dartworkormodelpositionstocreateanillusionofmovement.Theeffectisanopticalillusionofmotionduetothephenomenonofpersistenceofvision,andcanbecreatedanddemonstratedinseveralways.Themostcommonmethodofpres
2、entinganimationisasamotionpictureorvideoprogram,althoughthereareothermethods.EarlyexamplesAnEgyptianburialchambermural,approximately4000yearsold,showingwrestlersinaction.Eventhoughthismayappearsimilartoaseriesofanimationdrawings,therewasnowayofviewingtheimagesi
3、nmotion.Itdoes,however,indicatetheartist'sintentionofdepictingmotion.Earlyexamplesofattemptstocapturethephenomenonofmotiondrawingcanbefoundinpaleolithiccavepaintings,whereanimalsaredepictedwithmultiplelegsinsuperimposedpositions,clearlyattemptingtoconveytheperc
4、eptionofmotion.FiveimagessequencefromavasefoundinIranA5,000yearoldearthenbowlfoundinIran.Ithasfiveimagesofagoatpaintedalongthesides.Thishasbeenclaimedtobeanexampleofearlyanimation.However,sincenoequipmentexistedtoshowtheimagesinmotion,suchaseriesofimagescannotb
5、ecalledanimationinatruesenseoftheword.AChinesezoetrope-typedevicehadbeeninventedin180 AD.Thephenakistoscope,praxinoscope,andthecommonflipbookwereearlypopularanimationdevicesinventedduringthe19thcentury.Thesedevicesproducedtheappearanceofmovementfromsequentialdr
6、awingsusingtechnologicalmeans,butanimationdidnotreallydevelopmuchfurtheruntiltheadventofcinematography.AnEgyptianburialchambermural,approximately4000yearsold,showingwrestlersinaction.Eventhoughthismayappearsimilartoaseriesofanimationdrawings,therewasnowayofview
